The end of the pursuit. I remember about 20 years ago, while working in North Sac. CHP, several of our units were engaged in a pursuit that lasted approximately 35 minutes. We traversed the highways of Orange Vale, Citrus Heights, – before it was a city, and terminated a pursuit near the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback. The suspect took leg bail and started jumping fences. Several of the officers had cordoned off the scene and was preparing to take him into custody slowly. Our hearts are racing.Our blood pressure was extremely high. And our chest felt like it was going to explode. And our chest felt like it was going to explode. The suspect scale the fence right back onto Ssunrise Boulevard where we were. Our sergeant on duty, I will won’t give you any names, sergeant Mike Williams, jumped in the middle of the highway, with the suspect and all the officers surrounding him, raised his hands as if praying to the heavens, and yelled; remember the helicopters are watching. And everybody has a cell phone. Michael was a great surgeon. Everybody slow down, took a deep breath and slowly without incident took the suspect into custody. Thank you for letting me share.
